GCSE Geography resits: summer 2027 dates
This guide covers the summer 2027 series. Ask your school or exam board whether any earlier series is available for GCSE Geography.
GCSE Geography resits in summer 2027
Exams for the summer 2027 series run in May and June 2027, and results are due in August 2027. Your school or college makes the entries for you, so ask them for the entry deadline as early as you can.
Under the AQA specification (8035), GCSE Geography has three papers, each 1 hour 30 minutes long. Paper 1 covers living with the physical environment, Paper 2 covers challenges in the human environment, and Paper 3 covers geographical applications. Together the papers are worth 252 marks.
How to prepare for the resit
Start with a practice test, then focus on the topics where you scored lowest. Geography answers often need a clear explanation linked to a specific place or case study, so practise writing answers that use evidence.
Paper 3 is based on a pre-release booklet that AQA issues 12 weeks before the exam. Use that time to read the booklet and research the issue, as the Paper 3 questions draw on that material.
