Is there an equations sheet in GCSE Physics?
Yes. GCSE Physics (AQA 8463) is one of the subjects that will receive an equations sheet in the 2027 exams. AQA provides the Physics Equations Sheet as an insert with the Paper 1 and Paper 2 question papers.
What is on the 2027 equations sheet?
The content of the 2027 equations sheet has not changed. It is the same sheet used in 2026, so you can use it now for revision and exam practice. Questions that test the recall and application of physics equations still direct you to use the Physics Equations Sheet.
Why you still need to practise the equations
The sheet lists the equations, but it does not tell you which one to use or how to rearrange it. Practise choosing the right equation for each question, putting in values with their units, and checking that your answer makes sense for the situation in the question.
What changes from 2028
From 2028, Ofqual rules for GCSE Sciences apply. Exam boards must publish the equations sheets by 1 September the year before each exam series, provide clean copies of the sheet with every paper, and not set questions that can be answered only by copying information from the sheet.
These rules apply to standard demand questions in science papers, where students are currently asked to write down the equation that links quantities. AQA will share more about how these questions will be asked in the 2028 science exams later in the 2026 to 2027 academic year.
Where to practise
